Senior Maisie Swift was pleasantly surprised earlier this week by a phone call from Congressman Colin Allred. After completing a rigorous application process which included securing a nomination from Rep. Allred, Swift stands among a top-tier group of approximately 1,400 young people who have earned an appointment to the prestigious United States Air Force Academy.

The Friar family filled the Anatole on Saturday evening for more than just the fabulous live auction items and an exhilarating performance from Emerald City. In donning their best black & white attire and dancing shoes, Legacy Gala attendees had a singular focus- to raise needed funds for student scholarships.
One of the mottos of the Dominican Order, where we find our heritage at Bishop Lynch, is Contemplare et contemplata aliis tradere, meaning “to contemplate and to give to others the fruits of our contemplation.” This motto is often attributed to St. Thomas Aquinas, and is at the heart of our Heart of St. Dominic Christian Service program.
